"Modular synth live session in Sasazuka, Tokyo from July 2022. Fully live set with the addition of some ambient recording from film clips used; f.e. 04:00 min min semi (cicada) started singing in the tree above during my session.

Squarp Hermod as main sequencer for Tiptop Audio Ones, 2hp Pluck and MI Rings (arpeggiated).
Tiptop Audio One left plays bass sample (from Pro2), going into Shakmat Dual Dagger
Tiptop Audio One right plays ambient patch (from Pro2) going into Black Hole II with ganular delay.

Sasazuka is an interesting district not far away from Shinjuku. It is a quarter in transit with many changes going on; there are still many old houses around, aswell as their sometimes also very old tenants. Young families are increasingly filling the area, many different eating places and coffee shops are now run by young enthusiastic people and you frequently see foreigners around. According to some people we talked to, the government is obviouly interested in buying as much ground as they can, either for greater living areas or for business improved areas.
This video was recorded on a old trail, that conneted Edo through a small river/ stream with Tamagawa river. Occasionally, you can see the water, which is running all along the path, coming up to the surface under the urban structures, that have over a century been built up on top. At these small creeks, which you can find all over Tokyo, there is a lot of "wild life" going on - birds, beetles, that have dissapeared in other areas, wild bees and frogs etc. In the urban enviroment of today, they are precious outbursts of nature in an otherwise totally controlled city life. "Was visiting a good friend in Shaffhausen and made a little session on the Blackbox, which is always a good tool for a travel.

We had a little trouble with the autofocus, sorry for that!

"Ambient Drone for Relaxation or Study...
DSI Pro-2 running through Strymon Blue Sky (notorious shimmer), phones out running through 4ms Dual Looping Delay and Erica Synths Black Hole I. I found I tend to go more often for sounds to the Black Hole I rather than the II , even it provides more different effects.
Head phones or decent gear recommend.

Ambient Set with 1010 music Black Box at Lugano

"1010 music Blackbox live ambient set at Lugano with atmospheres and samples taken mostly at location; some atmospheres added later as I couldn’t finish the set by time. Also snippet with Black Box filmed afterwards. bell type loop was created with Thor-synth-app on IPad.
Footage from Lugano, Svizzerland - story of a sleepless night… if there is a geographical paradise of mainland Europe, it must be Lugano, wish I was there now…

DSI Pro 2 patch Evolution Noodle

"Last sunday noodle for this year, this time one patch evolving. i have used the patch idea with the LFOs from Christopher White for the P12 - see his very nice video here: [below]
and started from there adding more subtle modulation for filter, envelopes and pitch wheel, ribbon controllers, velocity, aftertouch and oscillator shapes. Four sessions mixed for better audio experience into on. First sound in paraphonic sequencer mode, second paraphonic keys, next with apreggiator in random, last again paraphonic keys. Snow footage from feb. this year.
Only added 25% of reverb in DAW to mush everything together, otherwise no effects except onboard delays. Head phones or decent gear recommend."

Ambient groove using the LFOs on the Prophet 12, some Microcosm haze, and the Digitakt.

"I love the LFOs in the @Sequential Prophet 12! This is a simple chord progression, triggering the LFOs in the Prophet with 4 note chords. The LFOs do the rest.

LFO1 is. Rev Saw controlling the LPF Cutoff as 16th notes
LFO2 is Rev Saw controlling the HPF Cutoff as 1 quarter notes
LFO3 is triangle controlling the Osc 2 Shape Mod as dotted quarter notes.
LFO4 is Rev Saw controlling the Delay 4 time as quarter triplets. I wanted this to give slight pitch fluctuations.

Osc1 is Tines with 70 glide and 10 slop.
Osc2 is Tri
Osc3 is Sine
Osc4 is off.

The @Hologram Electronics ​Microcosm is set to HazeA. The @ElektronDigitakt is set to all sorts...

Sequential DSI Pro 2 Noodle Pt II

"Continuing noodling on the Pro-2 - great synth with immense sound possiblities, very impressive. One of my favorites is actually the paraphonic mode. To me, the Pro-2 has a very distinct character - not really analog (though it can sound like that too) and not too digital - a true hybrid. You can get your typical knarly bass sound from it and there are loads of those in the Fixed Banks. However, I don’t find that so mich to be a speciality of this synths, they can never be so beefy loke the VCOs in my modular. The true beauty is the sound between digital and analog. No effects added, only inboard delays.
This time with Wurlitzer Piano, had to remove some hiss and noise coming from the piano amp. The Wurly is a bit detuned, sorry for that, will be serviced soon. With Black Hole DSP reverb.
